Dr. Mickal was instrumental in educating many Louisiana medical students and obstetricians over several decades at LSU. He retired to become Medical Education director at the Kenner Regional Medical Center (formerly St. Jude Hospital) in Kenner, Louisiana. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and is survived by his wife Lois and several children and grandchildren.
